Legislative Day on the Hill
Thursday, February 25, 2010 Are you a RD/DTR who is unsure of what role you can play in public policy? Do you wonder how you can make a real difference within your time constraints? This workshop will show you all you need is an ounce of passion and dash of interest to affect public policy.Public policy influences our patients, communities and the environment. From health care reform to access to safe & healthy food, the RD/DTR has a vital role in shaping better food and agriculture policies.
Nutrition plays a unique role in health promotion & disease prevention. Each of us is important in developing innovative and exciting new ways to deliver nutrition services and sustain our food system. Speaking with our legislators creates and supports these critical nutrition initiatives AND legislators want to hear from us -- the nutrition experts!
Legislative Day on the Hill will be Thursday, February 25th 2010 at the State Capitol. This event will provide 4 CEUs (including lunch with our legislators) for $20.
