RDDA CEU meeting
Thursday, March 25, 2010 March is National Nutrition Month and our March CEU meeting is focusing on the ADA theme of “Nutrition from the Ground Up” with speakers on local and sustainable agriculture.Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
A light meal will be provided incorporating local foods from producers in our area. Please RSVP if joining for the meal by March 18. (As usual, the meal is free if you are an RDDA member, if you are not a member the CEU meeting fee is $10 and a meal costs an additional $5).
Location: Judd Hall Auditorium in the subway level of the Gonda Building at Mayo Clinic (see the attached map)
Meeting Outline:
5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Local Foods meal. A panel of local food producers (everything from greens to cheese to chicken) will talk about their products, their goals, and their challenges.
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Speaker #1: Paul Hugunin, Agriculture Marketing Specialist with Minnesota Grown will share his talk on “What’s New in Local Foods.”
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Speaker #2: Stephanie Heim, MPH, RD will speak on the University of MN Farm to School Initiative. Stephanie is planning to have a representative from school foodservice with her to share their perspective as well. Contact Information:
