During the July 24 advocacy day, hosted by the Academy and our partners in the Diabetes Advocacy Alliance, members encouraged the Senate and House of Representatives to support better access to nutrition services for diabetes prevention and treatment. Members visited congressional offices to discuss the important role of registered dietitian nutritionists in this crucial area. The previous day, experts including Minnesota Academy member Carol Brunzell, RDN, LD, CDE, FAND, a certified diabetes educator at the University of Minnesota Health, spoke at a congressional briefing on “Addressing Gaps in Prevention and Care for Medicare Beneficiaries with Prediabetes and Diabetes.”
