In 2018, MAND members showed up in force representing about 60 of the total 150 Hunger Day attendees. Here’s how past participants responded to the question “What surprised you most about visiting your legislators at Day at the Capitol?”
“How friendly and excited our Representative was to talk with members from his district. It was a great experience and I am so glad I participated in the event!”
“I was very glad I went on the visit. I was surprised that the Senator and Representative were very normal people – my Representative lived in my neighborhood so it was nice to be able to relate the bills to something specific she was familiar with.”
“It was so much more enlightening and exciting than I thought it would be. Both women I met were incredible and supportive.”

Thanks for your support, advocacy and commitment!
