Spring MAND-TC Education Event, Diabetes Update: Meal Plans, Medications and More

Join us for an update on diabetes education. This presentation will review key times and outcomes for diabetes education, review and discuss the American Diabetes Association’s four goals of nutrition therapy for adults with diabetes, and teach participants strategies for implementation. We will also discuss prediabetes, an overview of the newest diabetes medications, new diabetes technology, including the newest insulin pump and continuous blood glucose monitoring, and “diabetes distress”– how to identify it and how you can help your patients. It will be a session full of information to update you on the newest research and standards to help your patients living with diabetes!

- Participants will be able to describe the goals of nutrition therapy for adults with diabetes and strategies for implementing them.
- Participants will be able to describe treatment goals for persons with prediabetes.
- Participants will discuss newer diabetes medications and technology that enhance glucose management.
