This position will supervise and manage the work of the WIC Breastfeeding, Training and Communications Unit within the Supplemental Nutrition Programs section. The responsibilities include building and maintaining statewide capacity and infrastructure to serve local staff and program participants ensuring participant access to program benefits and services; assuring compliance with federal regulations and state policies; identifying data needs and evaluating program outcomes; applying for and manage large federal grants; and coordinating program services with other health and social service programs and with other programs in the Child and Family Health Division.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related and at least 4 years WIC program experience in the following areas:
•Leadership and supervision of staff
•Nutrition education and breastfeeding support
•Program operations and oversight
•Stakeholder communication and partnership
•Staff training and development
Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related field
Experience working with a public health program at a state or local level
Experience or knowledge of developing program policy, including implementation of federal requirements
Project planning and budgeting experience
Light: Requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds. Job may also require significant standing or walking to perform job duties.
This position requires successful completion of a background check.
