areas including assessment, planning, implementation, achievement of results, and evaluation. We seek outcomes that
align with individual program standards, national ROMA goals and the National Community Action Partnership.
The WIC Program Manager is meant to manage and oversee daily operations of the WIC program; supervise nutrition
staff, write annual program plan, grant application, nutrition education plan, prepare and manage budget, and
necessary reports for WCCA and MDH. To develop and maintain relationships with site providers, community health
staff, health care providers, and the general public establishing community support. Complete participant certifications,
provide nutrition education, referrals, and issue benefits for supplemental foods.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing or similarly qualified professional in a related field, which
meets WIC CPA requirements.
Three to Five years of WIC experience and/or experience in the operation of community nutrition programs.
Experience in nutrition assessment, completing anthropometric measurements, delivering nutrition education
also a working knowledge of breastfeeding.
Experience supervising staff and motivating a team toward program goals.
Required Skills and Abilities
Must be able to operate a PC and related word processing, database, spreadsheet and custom software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage program operations, supervise program personnel. Maintain accurate records,
documentation and monitoring reports.
Demonstrated ability to prepare written plans, budgets, and program descriptions and control program
Ability to work with general direction and minimal supervision.
Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to relate to and work with parents and children of low-income families.
Ability to attend job related training and regular day and night time meetings.
Must have access to transportation for regular, local business travel.
