For those of you who knew her and those that never had the opportunity to meet Candy, we would like to share a little about her amazing time with us as friends and colleagues. Candy graduated high school from Argyle, MN. She attended MSUM and transferred to NDSU for dietetics. She hired her classmate and good friend/RD, Steph Beyer to work in the test kitchen together at NDSU. She married her high school sweet heart, John Keller and they have 3 children, Claudia – 21, Hannah – 19 and Ben-15. She took daily pride and joy with checking in with her girls daily and supported Ben at all of his games. Professionally, Candy worked in Crookston, MacIntosh, and most recently as the director of Food & Nutrition at Essentia Fosston and was a Certified Diabetes Educator, widely respected and valued by the many lives she touched. She had served as a past treasurer for the formerly NWDDA, now MAND-NW, and earned the RYDY under 35 award. Candy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2017 and passed away November 30, 2018. She was a beloved mom, friend, daughter, sister, co-worker and RD.
If you would like just like to make a donation to the Candy Keller Scholarship, please contact Kelly Jo Zellmann at: firstname.lastname@example.org for details. She was passionate about being a Dietitian and CDE and it seems like a fitting way to honor her legacy.
